Time to flip through my calendar as I do every year to note brilliant things about each year at it's conclusion. Oooh I'm so excited!
First of all, 2010 pretty much kicked 2009's ass which was an epic feat. There are so many great memories that came out of this year. Heads up 2011.
January: A lot of January was spent working on my Disney world scrapbook. As a result of this I currently have nothing else in my life scrapbooked for this year. I will probably spend next month working on that XD. There was sledding, randomly baking cakes, lots of trips to Half Price Books and obviously a lot of eating. The most important part of January was getting my job back at the library. While I was now going to be working at the West River branch it was still really nice to be back to work again. January was also the start of Spring Semester 2010 which currently holds my highest GPA. President Barack Obama came to LCCC which led to one crazy day.
February: Most Thursdays in February were spent taking random trips to McDonalds to visit Brittany. Stephanie and I volunteered at her church to go to the Haven House and organize one of their storage areas. Schoolwork basically dominated my February.
March: My first time at Dave & Busters was for Sara's birthday party. I built the Millennium Falcon out of Legos. We had a bonfire...in March. For St. Patrick's Day a group of us went to the Cleveland Zoo which started the beginning of a chain of drama throughout the year. Best to wash it down with a shamrock shake.
April: "Charlie" was discovered at McDonald's along with empty alcohol bottles in the park across from Finwood Estate. Stephanie's birthday was celebrated with the home opener of the Cleveland Indians which gave us a great workout (but I got the pin!) even though they lost. We also saw Riverdance which was amazing. There was a lot more shopping in April along with a lot more food eating.
May: May was probably one of my most favorite months of 2010. Meranda and I went to see Spring Awakening in Detroit so I finally learned what all of the hooplah had been about for the past year. From this trip I learned that the city of Detroit depresses me because of the tons of gutted out large buildings you see along the highway. Later in the month I returned to Detroit to go to their zoo (my favorite zoo) and ended up going through a not so great part of the city. Tons of boarded up houses (I heard something like 1 out of every 3 houses in Detroit is vacant. They're even selling homes for $1) and the ones that weren't boarded up were plastered with bars on the doors and windows to keep people out. I also went to the Pittsburgh zoo (meh) where Evan bought me the best stuffed penguin EVER. His name is Joe. I also got to go to Amish country for my first time and visited the William McKinley memorial and the National First Ladies museum in Canton. I also went to the Toledo zoo.
June: There was a lot of beach going in June. I was at the lake at least once a week. Stephanie scored free tickets to see "Despicable Me". I worked til 12:30am one night and was paid to play Apples to Apples for four hours. The crew took some time to kick back and relax in Vacationland which is for grilling and not for sock wearing. Evan's grandma turned 80 so we went down to Columbus to have dinner with her and the family. We also stopped at the Harding House in Marion.
July: The 4th of July, or rather the 3rd of July was celebrated at the country club with Evan and his family. My mom and I went down to Columbus to do some shopping. Random sleepover at Brittany's house which was filled with night swimming, tons of food and Brokeback Mountain.
August: My birthday was spent at the Cleveland zoo and I had dinner at the Macaroni Grill with Evan, his family and Courtney which was up from Florida. Meranda and I went to Geauga Lake, my first time at a water park. Beginning of Fall Semester 2010 which I remained on the Dean's List. Jessica and I finally have a class together (gooooo biology!).
September: The Early Childhood Education Club had it's first meeting. Megan and I founded the club and are co-presidents until June. More bonfires, random dressing up to go to the delicious Cheesecake Factory, lots of Arbys.
October: Stayed a weekend in Columbus with my mom to explore and go shopping. We came home with a trunk full of bags. My old laptop crapped out so I bought a new one. Spent Halloween in Columbus for Evan's cousins baby shower.
November: Lots more Arbys. Saw the first performance in the new EHS auditorium. Midnight showing of Harry Potter 7 pt. 1. Cleveland zoo. 3 am Black Friday shopping. Random Black Friday mall time terror with the crew.
December: End of Fall Semester 2010 (thank god), TAB christmas/anniversary party, Straight No Chaser concert, shitloads of Christmas shopping, crappy Christmas Eve, epic Christmas Day, amazing Crew Christmas Party.
Best year EVER!
